Lou Le Prince lived in the Age of Great Events
He lived with my heart in his hands
He lived with an eye to all that Age invent'd
He lives in my heart as my man man man

Lou Le Prince saw that the future lay
In repeating the present for all time
So as I danced and clowned in a garden in Roundhay
His magic eye wrote it all down down down

Lou Le Prince said "This will make us, dear"
His happy face was magic in my eyes
"We'll show our love over and again,
Dancing and clowning til we die die die

Lou Le Prince disappeared while travelling in France
His body it never was found
His patents lay unsigned and our chance at happiness
Was paper floating on a tide tide tide tide
Paper just floating on a tide

Now the world turns on moving pictures
Every night sees a different love story
I have my scrap of that Roundhay garden scene
But it's your face that I want to see see see
It's you Lou that I'll never see

With you Lou behind the camera dear dear dear
Hidden for all time from me
